Influence of macroscale and regional circulation patterns on low- and high-frequency sea level variability in the Baltic Sea

Abstract The atmospheric impact on sea level variability in the Baltic Sea different time scales was investigated. Northern Hemisphere teleconnection patterns, namely, North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO), Arctic (AO) and Scandinavia (SCAND) were employed, a strong but non-stationary relationship found. SCAND appeared to be most relevant mean monthly variations throughout year.
